​On 4/23/25 Opticians were successful in renewing their personal license for this biannual renewal period for 2025 by clicking on useful links and clicking on The State of Alaska's Dispensing Opticians Program, from there click to renew via the SOA MY LICENSE Online Renewal process. For those of you licensed and have not yet renewed. My advice to you is not to wait till the deadline of 6/30/2025 and I would renew sooner rather than later. Also, I wanted to give you a couple of tips as well from the renewal process.

-If you are spectacle AND contact lens endorsed with the SOA you need to have a total on 10 CEs for EACH aspect (10 ABO and 10 NCLE CEs) spanning the dates from 7/1/2023 through 6/30/2025 and it is your responsibility to keep the record of your CEs for any possible audit by the SOA at any time.

-In Alaska random audits can occur for licensed opticians at any time and it is advised from the SOA to maintain a minimum of 4 years of CEs for any audits required by the SOA.
