Join us for the OAAK 2026 Education Convention April 10-12th in Fairbanks, Alaska! We will be at a
brand new venue this year, The Wedgewood Resort. You can check out our new

Paradise is calling... and it's calling YOU! This year's convention is going full tropical -
a celebration of island vibes, sunshine, and Alaska's optical community. Come ready
to learn, laugh, and lounge in our tropical getaway (no sunscreen necessary)!
To book discounted accommodations for our Convention, please call the Wedgewood
Resort at (800) 528-4916 or (907) 456-3642 and mention the group name/code:
Opticians Association of Alaska 4/10/2026. Room discount rate is NOT available
online or through discount sites. Room rate is $149/night + tax for suites with single
or double occupancy. All suites include kitchens and living rooms.
The hotel is about 7 miles from the airport and offers free parking. Please be advised
you will need to plan on booking transportation from the airport to the venue. Rental
cars may be booked at the airport, and there are also taxis and Lyft/Uber services
available to hire.
The hotel will require rooms to be booked no later than 28 days prior to the start of
the event (March 13, 2026) to qualify for the group discount rate. We also request all
convention attendees be registered no later than March 13th so we can give accurate
attendance numbers to our venue so they can prepare proper meeting spaces and an
appropriate amount of food.
We will be featuring an ABO Prep class again, which this year will be presented by
Andrew Bruce. All registered attendees for the ABO Prep program who register prior
to March 1, 2026 will receive a printed course study guide.

sending a headshot and short bio so we can add you to the Optician Directory on our
website. You can include this information with your registration, or email it to Paul at
