The Opticians Association of Alaska would like to invite you to our 2026 Education Convention! Our
annual gathering will be held at the Wedgewood Resort in Fairbanks, Alaska from April 10th-12th. We
would love you have you join us at our tropical oasis in the middle of the Arctic for 2026's Tropical
themed event!
To book discounted accommodations for our Convention, please call the Wedgewood Resort directly
at (800) 528-4916 or (907) 456-3642 and mention the group name/code: Opticians Association of
Alaska 4/10/2026. The room discount rate is NOT available online or through discount sites. Room
rate is $149/night + tax for suites with single or double occupancy. All suites include kitchens and
living rooms. Please consider staying at the event venue, as it helps the Association save on event
costs if more rooms are booked under our discount code.
The hotel is about 7 miles from the airport and offers free parking. Please be advised you will need to
plan on booking transportation from the airport to the venue. Rental cars may be booked at the
airport, and there are also taxis and Lyft/Uber services available to hire.
The hotel will require rooms to be booked no later than 28 days prior to the start of the event (March
13, 2026) to qualify for the group discount rate. We also request all convention attendees be
registered no later than March 13th so we can give accurate attendance numbers to our venue so they
can prepare proper meeting spaces and an appropriate amount of food. This also gives us time to
have your company's name printed on our trifold for the vendor trade show.
This year we are excited to try a new vendor trade show format! As attendance has increased for both
members and vendors in recent years, we have found the 3 hour long vendor trade show was not long
enough to allow for much meaningful business. We will be opening the vendor trade show floor on
both Friday afternoon and evening (a perfect time to make appointments with individual accounts)
and during the traditional 12-3 Saturday vendor trade show time, where members will need to get
signed off by every vendor to be eligible to win door prizes.

Registered vendors can attend any/all CE classes during convention if they purchase an OAAK 2026
membership for $175. Memberships can be signed up for on our website, www.oaak.org. You can also
check our website for the most up to date information on our convention and other activities
throughout the year! Please also note that a full schedule of convention events will be sent to all registered
vendors and posted on our website once finalized.
We have several exclusive sponsorship opportunities for vendors this year. We rely on vendor
attendance and sponsorships to be able to present a top notch event, and unfortunately costs keep
increasing, making it harder for us to keep presenting our education convention at the level attendees
have grown accustomed to. Various sponsorships are detailed on page 2 of the registration form. We
would not have a convention without you, and appreciate all vendor support more that we can
express.
